The lake is home to nesting loons and features excellent fishing for rainbow trout and smallmouth bass. The Vermont state record (and the runner up as well) smallmouth bass was caught in Lake Eden. The Gihon river flows out of Lake Eden and holds plenty of brook trout and brown trout.
Nearby Mount Norris is a family friendly hike featuring spectacular views of Lake Eden and is less than three miles from the house. Vermont’s Long Trail which runs the length of the state passes within several miles of Lake Eden.
During the winter you can enjoy some of the best skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling (VAST Trail system is close by) in New England. Try Eden Dog Sledding Adventures or a horse drawn sleigh ride for something different. You'll need all-wheel drive in the winter as the driveway has a hill.
Close proximity to Stowe and Jay Peak make this a great location for day trips for shopping, dining, antiquing, and golf, as well as more adventurous activities. Jay Peak has an indoor year round water park that provides an excellent activity for rainy days.
