A relaxing, secluded, and homey bach half an hour’s drive from Coromandel Township and Colville (last stops for fuel and provisions).
Romantic getaway for couples or a family adventure, can sleep up to 4 guests (one double bed, 2 slatted single beds).
Several beaches within a few minutes’ drive - Little Bay, a safe, all-tide swimming beach with pontoons to swim to in the summer, snorkelling and fishing rocks, boogie boarding (boards under the house); Waikawau Bay with a small DOC summer store and great surf; stony Tuateawa Bay with a boat ramp (tandem kayak and boogie boards under the house); or Kennedy Bay, with its long white sands.
Wonderful views of the ocean over native bush. You can see the sunrise and starry night sky from bed. Many native birds, including bellbirds, tui, kaka, ruru (morepork), and kereru feed on berries right next to the balcony. The bach is in a kiwi zone.
Bean bags, hammock, and outdoor table and chairs for at-home relaxing on the deck. Fireplace to snuggle by in the winter.
Escape from technology – no microwave, dishwasher or wifi (good cellphone coverage though).
Mini CD player and radio. Loads of books, puzzles and board games, binoculars and a telescope for stargazing.
Two convection ovens (one benchtop, one round, easy-clean convection), and 2 gas rings, plus portable gas barbecue.
Basic pantry and cleaning items. Medium-sized fridge with top freezer.
Bathroom has toilet, shower, washing machine and dryer.
You’re welcome to park at the top of the driveway inside the gates, or in the carport a few metres down to your left at the top of the winding, bush-lined driveway. Otherwise, drive 150 metres down to the house. Have a boat? Talk to your property manager about boat parking options.
