Summary: Second time staying here. Can walk to shops & restaurants, dog-friendly. Charming building over 200 years old. Cons: Our room was on 3rd floor, so up & down 2 flights of stairs every time we walked dog. Shower backed up 1st time we used it, but they fixed it and comped us at the bar for our shower trouble.

Summary: The hotel is one building away from three pickleball courts. You can hear the balls until 10 PM. The A/C was not working.

Summary: We recently stayed for 3 nights and, while the property has potential and the front desk staff were very friendly, there were several issues that impacted our experience:
1.Pickleball Courts: The pickleball courts are located directly next to the room we were in. Games continued after sunset, and the noise level was significant. Again, the swamp coolers helped a bit, but it’s not ideal for those wanting a quiet evening. On the second night, the court lights were also left on all night, and since the room only has standard blinds (no blackout shades), the light streamed in, making it hard to sleep.
2. Tavern Closure: The on-site Tavern was closed for the entirety of our stay, which was disappointing, especially since this was not communicated to us prior to arrival.
3. Safety Concern: The downstairs side entrance door remained unlocked overnight, which raised some safety concerns.
4. Noise Issues: Every night, around 1am, there was a loud banging noise coming from the refrigerator area. Unsure if it was old pipes or something structural — I even recorded the noise the first night. We resorted to running the swamp coolers on high the next two nights just to drown it out.
5. Room Maintenance: There was tape around the windows, possibly to block drafts, but it didn’t look great and detracted from the overall appearance of the room.
6. Housekeeping: Housekeeping did not sweep during our stay; debris and sand from earlier in the day were still present when we returned to our room

Summary: Ok, hate to give a just OK review but have to here. The staff was nice, location was good/safe, but the Inn was DATED. It was fine for us for a couple of nights but this is not the place for you if you can’t do old rickety stairs, or climb into a bathtub for the shower, or expect AC (did provide a window unit but was also old and loud), or peeling paint, stiff beds etc. It has charm but needs a major makeover. Sign in the bathroom said you may have to wait 8 mins for hot water. Again, staff was nice and location was good but you should definitely know that stuff before booking there as the rooms were non refundable. We could see it not working for many people.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay so much we extended it by another night! The rooms were comfortable and charming. The tavern was a great spot for dinner & a drink, and the staff for the inn were all so friendly and helpful and even gave local recommendations. We felt so welcome! We also enjoyed rocking in the rocking chairs in the porch. There is a French bakery behind the inn and we enjoyed it for breakfast each morning. And we also enjoyed walking through the historic district, which is convenient to the inn. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!
