This charming home is perfect for a quiet family getaway and enjoying Maine lakeside living. It features a large fully screened in deck overlooking the lake and with ample seating and dining space for you to enjoy the surrounding nature. There is also a firepit with chairs. Down at the water, there is a very nice dock for fishing, sunbathing and other lake fun. The home also has 3 kayaks available for adventuring out on the lake.
Inside the home, the ground floor has a small but full stocked kitchen and dining area, a living room with lots of windows and an electric fireplace, and a large bedroom. The bathroom is also on this level. The upstairs features two additional bedrooms with a queen in one with two twin trundle bed in the other.
A few important notes about the home:
- This is a quiet family neighborhood. There are other homes nearby and it is not well-suited location for large gatherings or parties
- The home runs on lake water, which is common for this part of Maine. Bottled water will be provided for cooking and drinking.
- The bathroom has a shower stall only that is a bit on the narrow side
- The boat pictured in the listing is available as a flotation/lounging area only. I will not be available for boating purposes. Guests are welcome to bring up to one boat of their own. No jet skis allowed. If you wish to use jet skis, they can be launched at the nearby Lake Cobbosseecontee.
Just 3 minutes down the road, you will find the quaint town of Mount Vernon with a country store, a cute little library, and café. A 15-minute drive will take you to Readfield - a slightly larger town with the acclaimed Weathervane Restaurant, an Alpaca and Maple Farm, and a boat rental store if you need additional kayak, SUP, paddle boat or other other options.
