Located in the quiet and beautiful village of Seal Harbor, Grammy's House is just steps from Acadia National Park! Guests will enjoy the easy access to the Jordan Pond House, one of Acadia's most loved destinations in the park and famous for their amazing popovers! Bar Harbor is just a short drive from the home and offers restaurants, shops and tours for guests to enjoy. The home is full of history and charm which guests are sure to love!
Grammy's house is full of history and charm. The cottage was once owned by Nelson Rockefeller's gardener, and they raised their family in this cottage. The cottage has been lovingly taken care of and the grandson of the original owner has adorned the home with historic photos of Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island. Vintage maps of the area, books and other historical items will give you a peak at the history of our island.
The cottage accommodates up to four guests. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, and the second bedroom has a queen-sized bed. A small kitchen opens into a larger living area, perfect for conversation and relaxation. A deck off the living room offers outdoor seating and a grilling areal. A full bath and laundry area complete the home.
Grammy's house is located in beautiful Seal Harbor. Seal Harbor is a wonderful small village just steps from Acadia National Park. Wildwood Stables allows guests to explore Acadia by horse drawn carriage and is located just a few minutes away from the cottage. Their tours follow the carriage roads, originally constructed by John D. Rockefeller between 1913 and 1940. Nearby hiking trails include Day Mountain, which offers a nice view of the harbor. Seal Harbor Beach, one of only two ocean sandy beaches on the island, is a short walk or bike ride away.
In addition to easy access to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor is only 8 miles away and offers shopping, dining, boat tours and sightseeing opportunities. Northeast Harbor, a beautiful coastal village, featuring shops and local restaurants, is less than 5 miles from the cottage. Stop by the Northeast Harbor Marina and watch the boats come in and out of the harbor!
