Summer is here and we have the perfect spot to create memories for couples, families, small groups. Tranquil, scenic, spacious and unique. It is the perfect weekend retreat or week long getaway for a circle of close friends or family making new memories, celebrating life or a mixture of all of it. Lounging in style on a bluff in a small Ozark Mountain town (Flippin, Arkansas) above it all overlooking the world famous White River looking over the sleepy little town of Cotter, Arkansas. You will quickly realize why this area is the hardest kept secret today by so many. Feet kicked up on our outdoor covered deck with the fire pit going and glass in hand peering out onto the bluff with the famous White River flowing! Watch the fly fishermen in the early mornings down below in Roundhouse Shoals casting away or the guides and visitors cruising down the river to catch the big one! The uniqueness of this setting allows for a peaceful getaway yet easy to get to with all of the modern conveniences. Very few places compare to our little corner of the world.
You are only a few minutes from a Walmart Supercenter, a county airport, 3-4 quaint towns with a great variety of food/restaurants, multiple golf courses, two beautiful lakes and beautiful National and state parks. A winding county road will take you into a forrested area up the side of the bluff, all paved but the last 1/4 mile, that will lead you to our home and your getaway.
We have 5 acres of bluff property with a 2600 square foot house that has been completely renovated and curated by both my husband and myself. We have made a number of unique design decisions such as upcycling local rock from the "old" house turning it into the wall that will greet and invite you, to the corten steel siding with black trim and my grandpa's old disc plow that is now our water feature that holds my heart that sits just inside the side entrance. If it's the river that is calling you then I recommend hiring one of our local guide services that we can certainly recommend based on experience and local connections. We are 27 miles from the Buffalo National River/Park and you can arrange a kayak or canoe trip easily (with my help, if you like). Bull Shoals Lake is 13 miles from our door and it is a lake that is hundreds of miles of lake arms and coves with common activities such as boating, water sports, swimming and fishing. Bull Shoals Lake Boat Dock can set you up with all of it! If it's just relaxing and unwinding then our property is made for that. I have created a book with all of my recommendations for food, events, etc. It might be as simple as hitting the local grocery stores (Sunfest Grocery in Gassville) and retiring on our covered deck to lounge and take in the views. If you are a bird person then I have the perfect setup....my hummingbirds are hours of entertainment as well as the multitude of cardinals, golden finches, blue buntings, etc. flock around our bird area all within eye range of lounging on the outdoor sectional with or without binoculars (provided in the house). You might get lucky and catch our eagles swooping by...we have a couple that take the route, at least, a couple of times a day. Just be watching in early morning or evenings. Sometimes they come and land on one of the larger trees about 20 feet from the deck. All of this can be seen just inside our large floor to ceiling windows from the cozy sectional inside our living room as well. We have several whitetail deer that you will see as well as the shy groundhogs that scamper back and forth from the bluff, fox that might be chasing squirrels and if you are really lucky a rare bobcat sighting.
