Yes, it's rustic rather than being a showhome but inside, it's light, airy, cosy and well equipped.
The best thing about this place is its amazing location. Despite being on a suburban arterial road (good for those using the bus service) its being well back from the road down a tree-lined driveway means that you never hear the traffic. Even during rush hour, all you hear is rustling leaves and birdsong. As well as various types of native bird, the property is also home to skinks and monarch butterflies. I call it my urban oasis as every window looks out at trees. The bottom area is part of Kohimarama Forest and backs onto the regeneration project. The intrepid may like to fight their way down there to explore.
Close by are several native bush reserves and short walks, four beaches and an estuary. There's a choice of supermarkets, eateries and family-friendly activities, including great dog walks. The CBD is a 5-10 minute drive away, depending on traffic. St Heliers Bay and historic Mission Bay are only about a two-minute drive away.
Inside the house, the kitchen, while basic, is fully equipped and the lounge has an eclectic range of DVDS, family board games and some tween/teen novels.
The beds are cosy with duvets and several pillows.
The siting and many windows mean that the place gets the all-day sun, with the second bedroom getting the early morning sun, the living areas getting it later in the morning until sunset and the master bedroom getting the late afternoon sun.
