La Faute-sur-Mer is the southernmost seaside resort in the Vendée department. It is located in the Pertuis Sea, opposite the Île de Ré, near the Bay of Aiguillon.
The beaches of La Faute-sur-Mer stretch for 8 km from La Tranche-sur-Mer to the tip of the Pointe d'Arçay. Well sheltered, they offer opportunities for numerous water sports, including sand yachting.
