Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Good communication before arrival. Easy check in and collection of booked bedding/towels. Site is by the water and close to a cycle route/footpath. Good children's playground. We stayed in lodge 1, Double room was very snug but fine for our short stay, mezzaine room beds good for under 12s and sofa turned into bed for my 17 year old, i would book a 3 bedroom for a longer stay. Very good kitchen facilities, good sized living space with high ceiling. Good shower room and heating. Nice veranda with table, chairs and a bbq. Able to park car next to lodge. Short drive to supermarket, butchers and pizza takeaway. Was a good base for exploring Zealand, close to Holbaek and Roskilde, and site seemed popular with caravaners and campers.

Negative: We knew the site was close to motorway so not a big issue for us but lodge 1 was at the top of the site next to the pool, so very close to motorway compared to other areas of the site. Had view of motorway from mezzaine room window and noise from motorway if windows open/outside. Location of lodge 1 had no views of the water except from mezzaine room, and camping pitch right next to it so if occupied view from veranda was of neighbours. 3 bed lodges were in a better location with a bit of a view. I would recommend providing a toaster in the kitchen.
