Carved out of the woods on Gardner Lake in 1917, Camp Wakenah was both a day and overnight camp for the Boy Scouts. In 2002, Donna and Stanley Adelstein purchased the property to create a year round vacation estate for themselves and their children. After converting the property and enjoying it together for over a decade, it was sold in January 2018. It is now both a private home and available for rental, events, and weddings. The 32 acre property has a magnificent location on Gardner Lake and now has two family cottages, or cabins, with 2 and 3 bedrooms respectively and the main house with a first floor guest suite with 3 bedrooms. Aside from the magnificent gardens, waterfalls, Koi ponds, and waterfront there is an indoor pool with hot tub, steam spa, and sauna. Throughout the property you will experience the heritage from which it was born and the care that helped it become what it is today. Enjoy the many sites in Southeastern CT or stay on the estate and walk, or bike, around the 32 acres of woods and trails available. It is your choice when you stay in the 2 bedroom cabin.
