This session simplifies insight and academic findings about workplace communication to offer three basic but powerful recommendations that can positively influence personal and career success.

Session type: IMEX Future Leaders Forum Note: This session will be delivered in a panel discussion format with a moderator, 2-3 presenters comprising a panel and an audience of up to 40 people.

Audience: Students from the US, Canada and Mexico who are in their final year at a university or college and are studying meetings, conventions, tourism or hospitality

Session description: So much of how people approach challenges and opportunities in their lives is dictated by confidence. What makes one person succeed over another when they both have equal levels of experience? Often it comes down to confidence and a person’s ability to market themselves. In this session, WINiT Members will

explore three steps anyone can take to start closing the confidence gap and share some personal stories about how confidence had an impact on their success and career growth.

Cha Jones

Cha Jones is the president of Global Bound Consulting and the founder of Expat Women of Color, a non-profit association, helping women live comfortably anywhere in the world. Cha is a seasoned international speaker, expatriate and transformation coach, and the author. She has written the New Urban International Migration: African American Women Moving Abroad, You Too! Can Live Abroad, and Every Girl Needs Her Pearls. Her journey as an expat began in Seoul South Korea where she lived and worked as an ESL instructor and university professor teaching English communications for over three years. She is an avid traveler who spent time in over forty-three states in the US, Bahamas, China, Dominican Republic, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, and Panama. Ms. Jones has a Masters in Intercultural Service, Leadership and Management with a focus in International Education from the School for International Training (SIT) a division of World Learning in Brattleboro, VT. She also holds a certification in Life Coaching from the Spencer Institute in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA and Bachelors in Business Management with a focus in Marketing from Aquinas College in Nashville, TN.

Ms. Jones has a Masters in Intercultural Service, Leadership and Management with a focus in International Education from the School for International Training (SIT) a division of World Learning in Brattleboro, VT. Lisa Paul has over 25 years of experience in the global travel, meeting and conference management space, as well as incentive program design and execution. Lisa has held strategic sales roles at leading industry corporations such as Maritz, CWT and currently with Kuoni, and she’s managed complex, multi-national deals in every global market. Lisa also has a marketing background in the industry and is an experienced communications strategist.  She is a WINiT Founding Leader, Co-Chair of the WINiT Conference & Event Planning Committee and will serve on the WINiT Board of Directors in 2017.
